Radio Room
The Base contains a recently upgraded radio room which contains MF/HF, VHF, 27MHz, UHF and DCN radios, local weather monitoring equipment, radio directional finder, modern computer and communications equipment and other facilities necessary to conduct search and rescue operations.
The equipment is also used to communicate to vessels on Lake Macquarie and at sea who "log on". They will be monitored during their day out fishing or whilst on a voyage at sea.
The radio room is manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Miscellaneous
The building is also used for the training of our members and conducting courses for the public. A boat shed is located under the radio room for housing vessels and other rescue equipment.
